Terms of Use & Privacy Policy

By utilizing the Surveys On The Go® app (the “SOTG App” or “App”), you agree to be legally bound by the terms and conditions set forth below (the “Terms of Use” or “Agreement”). The terms “you,” “Member” and “User” refer to anyone who accesses the SOTG app.

Important Information About Privacy

The App is a survey and opinion collection application, so if you join our panel we will ask and collect the information you’ll provide us. See Privacy Policy (below) for more information. Such information may include your name, e-mail address, user name, and password. In addition, the App collects some information about your mobile phone automatically, such as the type of mobile device you use and the device’s unique ID and IP address.

If you agree to share your geographic location, your phone will notify us when you visit key locations, so we can send you location-specific surveys. You can stop the data collection process by deleting the App, or you can stop geographic survey feature by disabling location alerts. The data collected for this App is for market research purposes only and is not used to market anything directly to you.

A. Terms of Use

Subject to applicable laws and regulations, Surveys on the Go® (SOTG) may change these Terms of Use at any time either with notice through the application or by email. SOTG is also known as MFour Mobile Research, Inc.®  Changes will be posted on the SOTG App and/or sent to you via email and such changes shall be effective no later than thirty (30) days after notice. You agree to review the App periodically to be aware of any such amendments. Your continued use of the App after such amendments have been made shall constitute acceptance of the amendments. If any of these changes are unacceptable, you are not authorized to access the SOTG App and should delete the App from your device.

  1. Eligibility

Accounts in the SOTG App are limited to individuals only. Corporations and other business entities are not eligible. Use of automated services or machines is not permitted. Use of the App requires you to establish an account and is limited to one (1) account per person, even if the individual has multiple e-mail addresses. Users must be 13 years of age or older to use the App. By using the SOTG App you represent you are 13 or older. If Surveys on the Go discovers that a user under 13 years of age has created an account, or that a user or visitor under 13 years of age has posted personally identifiable information or other content to the SOTG App, Surveys on the Go will terminate the account and remove the information or other content. If you do not meet all of these requirements, you must not access or use the SOTG App.

  1. Member Registration Obligations

As part of the registration process, you must provide SOTG with accurate, complete, and updated information, including your first name, last name, and a valid email address. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of this Agreement, which may result in immediate termination of your access to the App and forfeiture of incentive payments. Please see our Privacy Policy for information regarding how this information will be used and maintained. As part of the registration process you must select a password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password used to log into the SOTG App and you accept responsibility for all activities, charges and damages that occur in relation to your account. You shall promptly contact SOTG if you believe there has been unauthorized use of your account. In order to prevent unauthorized activity or access to your SOTG App account, you must provide your e-mail address and selected password in order to update your profile information, update personal information (name, e-mail address, etc.) and redeem incentives.

You agree to abide by all applicable laws and regulations with respect to your SOTG App account.

  1. Password/Account Access Rights & Responsibilities

SOTG may act upon any instructions received under your password and e-mail address without further verification. SOTG cannot and will not be liable for any incentive credits or debits made to your account by anyone who uses your password.

  1. Earning SOTG Incentives

You agree to receive invitations to participate in surveys from SOTG via email and the App “push/badge” notification system. You may earn incentives when you complete a survey. The amount or type of incentives that can be earned will be stipulated in each survey invitation.

Not all surveys will include incentives and you are not required to participate in any survey.

You will receive the incentive only for completed and submitted surveys unless the survey invitation stipulates otherwise. If you begin, then save a survey to complete at a later time or date, you acknowledge that survey respondent quotas may fill up, resulting in the survey being closed and preventing you from being able to complete the survey. You will not be entitled to any incentive if a survey closes before you submit the completed survey.

  1. Redeeming Incentives

Cash Incentives. For surveys with cash incentives, you are not entitled to receive payment of any such cash rewards until your account reaches a minimum balance of $10.00 US.  Cash incentives are paid through methods made available in the App. Such methods may include PayPal, an Amazon or Starbucks account credit or Visa gift card. Th cash incentive payment methods may be changed by SOTG at any time.  App account balances and/or incentives are not transferable by gift, upon death, as part of a domestic matter, or otherwise.  App incentives and accounts may not be auctioned, traded, bartered or sold. Your SOTG App account may not be merged with the account of any other Member under any circumstances.  SOTG reserves the right to change the incentive program to include different types of awards other than cash, such as an award points system. In the event that the incentive program is changed from cash to a points system, you will be given equal value in points for the existing balance in your account.

  1. Expiration of SOTG App Incentives

If your account has been inactive for more than 365 consecutive days from the last date of activity, one hundred percent (100%) of any SOTG App incentives remaining in your account will be forfeited.

  1. Intellectual Property Rights & Unlawful Use

The SOTG App is the property of MFour Mobile Research, Inc. or its licensors, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. All trade names, trademarks, service marks and other product and service names and logos on the App and within the Content (as defined below), including the name SOTG are proprietary to their respective owners and are protected by applicable trademark and copyright laws. Any of the trademarks, service marks or logos (collectively, the “Marks”) displayed on the App may be registered or unregistered marks of SOTG or others. You agree that you will not copy, share or replicate any of the information, questions, images or videos provided during surveys, (the “Content”), modify any Content, or delete or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights notices from Content. You may not access or use for any commercial purposes any part of the SOTG App. Such actions will be considered a material violation of this Terms of Use and will result in immediate termination of your right to access and use the SOTG App as well as potential civil penalties. Nothing contained in the App should be construed as granting any license, title or right by implication, estoppel or otherwise to use any of the Marks displayed on the App without the express written permission of SOTG or a third-party owner of such Marks. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by SOTG. You shall honor all reasonable requests by SOTG to protect the proprietary interests of SOTG in the App and the Content. Illegal and unauthorized uses of the Marks or any other Content are strictly prohibited.

  1. Member Conduct

You agree to not use the SOTG App to:

  • Violate applicable law;
  • Impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity;
  • Interfere with, disrupt or violate the terms and conditions and operating rules of the SOTG App or servers or networks connected to SOTG; or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies, or regulations of such networks;
  • Interfere with another Member’s use or enjoyment of the SOTG App;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the SOTG App, or to any other accounts, web sites, computer systems, or network;
  • Transmit any file that contains viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or any other contaminating or destructive features;
  • Use the SOTG App to conduct any activity or solicit the performance of any illegal activity or other activity that infringes the rights of others;
  • Provide access to the SOTG App to others using your personal account.

You agree to provide truthful and appropriate answers to all survey questions and requests for personal or demographic information. SOTG reserves the right to withhold cash or non-cash incentives to you if SOTG determines, in good faith, that your responses to survey questions are not truthful or appropriately considered.

  1. Anti-hacking Provision

You expressly agree not to use the SOTG App to:

  • Launch or attempt to launch any “deep-link,” “scraper,” “robot,” “bot,” “spider,” “data-mining,” “computer code” or any other automated device, program, tool, algorithm, process, or methodology or manual process having similar processes or functionality, to access, acquire,
  • Copy, or monitor any portion of the App, any data or Content found on or accessed through the App or any other Content without the prior express written consent of SOTG;
  • Obtain or attempt to obtain through any means any materials or information on the App that have not been intentionally made publicly available either by their public display on the App or through their accessibility by a visible link on the App;
  • Violate the restrictions in any robot inclusion headers on this App or in any way bypass or circumvent any other measure employed to limit or prevent access to the App or its Content; violate the security of the App or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, data, materials, information, Web Sites, computer systems or networks connected to any server, through hacking, password mining or any other means;
  • Interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the App or any activities conducted on or through any web site, including accessing any data, content or other information prior to the time that it is intended to be available to the public on the App;
  • Take or attempt any action that, in the sole discretion of SOTG, imposes or may impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load or burden on the infrastructure of SOTG.
  1. Termination

This Agreement, and your account, may be terminated as follows:

  • Member Termination. You have the right to terminate this Agreement and your SOTG App account at any time by deleting the application from your mobile device. Inactive accounts will also be automatically closed and deactivated after 365 consecutive days of inactivity.
  • SOTG Termination. SOTG may terminate this Agreement and your SOTG App account effective immediately and without prior notice, for any reason, including, without limitation, inactivity, failure to provide accurate information or valid survey responses, or if SOTG believes in its sole discretion that you have violated or acted inconsistently with this Agreement.
  1. Disclaimer of Warranties & Liability

Your use of the App is at your own risk.  The App and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any warranties of any kind. You are entirely liable for activities conducted by you in connection with your use of the SOTG App. If you are dissatisfied with the App or with these Terms of Use, your sole and exclusive remedy is to cease using the App. Neither SOTG nor any third-party provider will pay you any damages in connection with your access or non-access to the SOTG App. Neither SOTG, their affiliates, nor their third-party providers guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness or availability of any Content provided through this App. You understand that we cannot and do not guarantee or warrant that the App will be free of viruses or other destructive code. To the fullest extent provided by law, we will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a virus or other technologically harmful material.  SOTG, their affiliates, third-party providers, their directors, officers, shareholders, employees and agents are not responsible for any errors or omissions, regardless of the cause, or for the results obtained from the use of such information.

SOTG, SOTG AFFILIATES AND THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR USE. In no event shall SOTG, their affiliates or their third-party providers and their directors, officers, shareholders, employees or agents be liable to any party for any direct, indirect, incidental, exemplary, compensatory, punitive, special or consequential damages, costs, expenses, legal fees, or losses (including, without limitation, lost income or lost profits and opportunity costs) in connection with any use of such information or the SOTG App even if SOTG has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

  1. Links to Other Web Sites From this Web Site

You may, through hypertext or other computer links on the App, gain access to websites operated by persons other than SOTG. Such hyperlinks are provided for your reference and convenience only, and are the exclusive responsibility of such websites’ owners. Please be aware that these third party sites are governed by their own terms, which should be reviewed before use. You agree that SOTG is not responsible for the content or operation of such websites, and that SOTG shall have no liability to you or any other person or entity for the use of third-party websites. Except as described below, a hyperlink from this app to another website does not imply or mean that SOTG endorses the content on that website or the operator or operations of that site. You are solely responsible for determining the extent to which you may use any content at any other websites to which you link from this app. SOTG assumes no responsibility for the use of third-party software on the website and shall have no liability whatsoever to any person or entity for the accuracy or completeness of any outcome generated by such software.

  1. User Content

The User grants to SOTG the non-exclusive and perpetual right to use all Content entered into or on the App by the User (other than User Registration Information) in any medium and for any purpose.

Users posting Content on the App are responsible for the content of that material. SOTG has no responsibility for User Content or for the content of any messages or information posted by Users or others, or for the content of information accessible on the Internet, even if accessed via direct or indirect hyperlinks from the App. However, SOTG retains the right, which it may or may not exercise in its sole discretion, to review, edit, or delete User Content that SOTG deems to be illegal, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate. The User is solely responsible for all access to, usage of, or activity on, such User’s account/profile including, but not limited to, use of the account/profile by any person who uses your password to access the SOTG App, with or without authorization, or who has access to any computer, mobile or other device on which your account/profile resides or is accessible. The User agrees not to post, upload, transmit, send or otherwise make available on or through the App any Content which such User is bound not to disclose by agreement, contract, fiduciary duty, employment relationship, or otherwise, including but not limited to, insider information, proprietary and/or confidential information, trade secrets or Content that infringes upon any third-party’s rights.

The User agrees to indemnify SOTG and any third-party data providers, from all damages, liabilities, costs, charges and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that SOTG, its affiliates, employees, and authorized representatives may incur as a result of any claim arising out of User Content posted using your email address and password, including without limitation, that which violates these Terms of Use and/or applicable laws.

  1. Additional Legal Terms – User Agreement to These Terms of Use

Subject applicable laws and regulations, SOTG may discontinue or change the App, or its availability to you, at any time. Your agreement to these Terms of Use survives any such discontinuation. These Terms of Use, constitute the entire agreement between the parties relating to the SOTG App and supersedes any and all other agreements, oral or in writing, with respect to the App. The failure of SOTG to insist upon strict compliance with any term of this Agreement shall not be construed as a waiver with regard to any subsequent failure to comply with such term or provision. This Agreement is personal to you, and you may not assign your rights or obligations to anyone. If any provision in this Agreement is invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. This Agreement, your rights and obligations, and all actions contemplated by this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the United States of America and the State of California. The parties agree that the State and Federal courts of California shall be the exclusive forums for any dispute arising out of this Agreement and the parties hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

  1. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SOTG and its current and future subsidiaries, successors, affiliates, licensors, suppliers, co-branders, third-party providers, clients, sponsors, and partners, and the officers, directors, employees, and agents of each of them, from and against any and all claims, losses, costs (including court costs), fees (including legal fees), damages and expenses that any such party may incur as a result of, due to, or arising out of violation by you (or anyone acting under your account or password) of this agreement or the use or misuse of the SOTG App by you (or anyone acting under your account or password), the violation of any rights of another by you (or anyone acting under your account or password) or your use of any information obtained from the App.

  1. Limitation on Time to File Claims

Any cause of action or claim you may have arising out of or relating to this Agreement must be commenced within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues; otherwise, such cause of action or claim is permanently barred.


This Privacy Policy is effective as of November 22, 2021. MFour Mobile Research, Inc. (“MFour,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. We also want to be upfront and clear about information we collect, how we use it and your rights. MFour is a market research technology company providing services, including sharing data, to other market research companies, 3rd parties operating in the ad tech sector, companies providing products and services to consumers, and other parties (collectively “Partners”)” for the purposes of market research, commercial marketing, and other purposes. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when individuals (“you”) visit or interact with our websites including www.surveysonthego.com, www.surveysonthego.net, www.mfour.com, and www.mfour.net (the “Sites”), and the Surveys On The Go® mobile application (the “SOTG App”). The Sites and the SOTG App together are called the “Services” in this Privacy Policy. The SOTG App is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. If you download the SOTG App, you will be able to create an account and receive and respond to surveys that we conduct for our use or on behalf of our Partners. We offer you incentives in exchange for your survey participation. We share survey results and other information collected through the SOTG App with our Partners who typically use the information we provide to conduct and improve their products, services, and advertising. From time to time, we may permit selected third parties to provide you with additional survey opportunities in the SOTG App. If you decide to participate in those additional opportunities, your participation in those third-party surveys will be directly with those third parties and will not be governed by this Privacy Policy. The SOTG App is not offered outside the United States. For US individuals who use the SOTG App, we may use the information that we collect (as described below) to avoid sending you surveys from us or a third party while traveling outside the United States.

  1. Types of information collected and how we collect them

Personal information you provide to us
When you use the Services, you may provide personal information to us in the SOTG App. This information may include your name, address, telephone number, email address, zip code, demographic information (such as your age, gender, income, education level, etc.) and other information. We collect this information when you voluntarily provide it to us when creating an account after downloading the SOTG App and when you use the SOTG App to update your account information. We will use demographic and other information you provide to help us send you relevant surveys and for other purposes. If you participate in a survey, we will collect information and responses that you provide in the course of the survey. For some surveys, this may include photo, audio, and video information that you provide. If you use our Facebook log- in tool, we may collect the information you choose to make publicly available through your Facebook profile such as your name, date of birth, email address, and residence location. You can control what specific information is made public through your use of your Facebook privacy settings.

Personal information collected automatically
We collect certain personal information automatically through the SOTG App and when you visit the Sites.  Personal information that is automatically collected includes the following:

  • Usage and Device Data. We may automatically collect certain types of usage and device data when you visit our Sites or use the SOTG App. This information is collected by us through a variety of technologies, including cookies, location-identifying technologies, and similar technology.  For example, we use session and persistent cookies, and other similar technologies, to make it easier for you to navigate our Services, to provide a better experience for you when you participate in surveys, and for quality control and validation purposes. Cookies are small text files or other forms of data which are stored on a computer by a website and can store certain information about the internet browsing activity on that computer. You may be able to disable and/or delete cookies via your browser and/or plug-in settings; however, this may: (1) decrease the functionality of the websites you visit; (2) limit your ability to use and view our Services; and (3) limit your participation in the Services, including incentivized surveys. Even if you disable cookies, we may collect and use other information that identifies your device over time to provide our Services. We may collect information automatically when you visit the Site that includes, for example, browser type, IP address, pages visited and other activities on the Services. Through the SOTG App, we may collect information about your device and its software, such as your Ad-ID, device ID, device manufacturer, device model and version and wireless carrier/provider information, IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, platform type, device type, operating system, date and time stamp, a unique ID (that allows us to uniquely identify your browser, mobile device, or your account), the date and time of your visit or when you download our app and other similar information.
  • Geographic Location Information. If permitted on your device and with your permission, the SOTG App may automatically collect and use your precise location information to provide you with geographically focused survey opportunities from us and our Partners, to identify and analyze consumer trends and patterns and to maintain and improve our Services. We may also permit selected third parties to collect and use your precise location data through our SOTG App to provide you additional survey opportunities from those third parties. You will receive prior notice and must give your consent before your geographic location is collected through the SOTG App (in the event that you share your device with another person, please be aware that this person could change these permissions on your behalf). If you do not want to provide your location information through the SOTG App, you may use the settings available on your mobile device to limit this sharing.
  • Digital Survey Data. If you consent to and participate in Digital Surveys, information we collect may include your other online activities, apps that you use on the device – as well as information about how and for how long you use the apps and the apps that you install and uninstall (if permitted by your operating system, activities and purchases you make on Amazon and other e-commerce apps and websites, and logs of SMS messaging (but not the content of messages).
  • Payday Program.Payday is an optional program that allows you to receive a weekly incentive in addition to survey incentives.  If you participate in Payday, you may also receive more surveys.  You must consent to and allow us to automatically collect Geographic Location Information and Digital Survey Data to be eligible for Payday. This is in addition to Usage and Device Data we may automatically collect, or you provide to us. You can use the Services without enrolling in To enroll in Payday, you must enroll in the SOTG App, receive an invitation from us and take certain additional steps such as enabling Accessibility permission on Android devices and downloading a Virtual Private Network (VPN) tool that allows us to collect the additional activity data, for iOS. Even if you do not enroll in Payday, we may still collect other information through the Services as described in other sections of this Privacy Policy. If you choose to enroll in Payday, you can permanently disable or temporarily pause the additional activity data collection at any time. You can pause or disable Payday using controls within our SOTG App. Pausing or disabling Payday will not pause or disable any data collection through our Services, and you will continue to receive surveys through the SOTG App.
  • Person information from third parties. We also obtain personal and other information about you from third parties, which we often combine with personal information and other information we collect automatically, or you provided to us. For example, Partners and other parties may provide us with your AdID, demographic and address information, device identifiers and other device and other information.  We may also use analytics services provided by third parties. These Partners may use cookies or other technologies to collect information about your online activities on the Sites, how you use the SOTG App and other sites and apps over time for analytics purposes.

Information we collect automatically, from third parties or you provide to us, will be used and shared as described in this Privacy Policy. If you no longer want us to collect information from you through the SOTG App, you can stop responding to surveys and uninstall the SOTG App. We may continue to use and share the information that you previously provided, as described in this Privacy Policy.

  1. How we use your personal information

We use the information we collect for purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed to you on our Sites and in the SOTG App.  For example, we use information we collect for:

  • Providing you with relevant survey opportunities. For example, demographic information may be used to match you to types of consumers a Partner may want to survey.  Or, your location data may be used to offer you surveys while you are visiting a specific location such as a store or restaurant.
  • Market research, including sharing data, to other market research companies, 3rd parties operating in the ad tech sector, companies providing products and services to consumers, and other parties for the purposes of market research, commercial marketing, and other purposes.
  • Conducting our research and analysis to improve our products and services, identify consumer trends, develop consumer segments and other market research purposes.
  • Our compliance with laws and legal obligations and maintaining the security of our Services and your information.
  • Detecting and preventing fraudulent users of the Services and survey responses and other fraudulent activities.
  • Paying incentives to you using your email address, phone number or other information.
  • Communicating with you such as responding to your comments or questions, authenticating your identity, and providing you with updates to our products and services.
  • Monitor, administer, and enhance our Services, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical, and survey purposes.

We retain your SOTG App account information over time in order to provide the Services to you, including to offer you additional survey opportunities from Partners or for our internal research. If you participate in our surveys, the survey responses that you provide will be used only for market research. We will not use or share your responses for advertising or for direct marketing back to you.

  1. Disclosures of personal information

We want you to understand when and with whom we share your personal information.  We may disclose your personal information in the ways described below.  We do not sell or provide your personal information to Partners for their use in or services to you.

  • To our Partners, which handle the information according to their own privacy policies. We share information with our Partners to provide them with our services or for their own purposes. Typically, the information we share with Partners can include personal information, survey responses, geolocation information, Digital Survey Program Data and/or demographic information associated with unique identifiers such as hashed email addresses, device identifiers, or other alphanumeric identifiers used for internal purposes. We may also provide Partners with aggregate reports that include combined demographic or other survey data.
  • Authorized third-party vendors and service providers.​ In some cases, we share personal data with authorized contractors, subcontractors, third-party vendors, and service providers who help us operate our business and provide the Services.  For example, we may share personal information with service providers that provide services such as web hosting, data analysis and reporting, auditing and compliance, network and data security and identifying consumer demographics and geolocation.
  • Legal purposes.​ We disclose personal information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, pursuant to a court order, subpoena, warrant, in response to a law enforcement request, as otherwise required or requested by law, regulation, or government authority programs; disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating the law or our rights or interfering with (either intentionally or unintentionally) use of the Services or to protect our rights or the rights or safety of others; and for other legal related purposes.
  • Business event.We may disclose personal information in connection with an actual or potential sale of stock or assets, merger, or any other change of control transaction (including in bankruptcy), or in the case of a bulk or partial sale, or other transfer (including third party panelist administration) of information to another research organization / end user;
  • With your consent​. We share personal information for any other purpose disclosed to you with your consent

We may also share and disclose information that is aggregated, de-identified or otherwise does not specifically identify you or your device, in our discretion. We restrict our Partners by contract from using information collected through the Platform for advertising or direct marketing back to you.

  1. Third-party links & tools

Our Services may provide links to third-party websites or apps including offers and links to additional survey opportunities on third-party platforms. We do not control the privacy practices of those websites or apps, and they are not covered by this Privacy Policy. You should review the privacy policies of other websites or apps to learn about their data practices.

Our Services may also include integrated social media tools, such as our Facebook log-in tool.  If you use these tools to share personal information or you otherwise interact with these features on the Services, those companies may collect information about you and may use and share such information in accordance with your account settings, including by sharing such information with us and the general public.  Your interactions with third-party companies and your use of their features are governed by the privacy notices of the companies that provide those features.  We encourage you to carefully read the privacy notices of any accounts you create and use.

  1. Updating your personal information or deactivating your SOTG account

If you have a SOTG App account, you can review, change, or update your personal information associated with your account under the “Profile” tab in the SOTG App.

You can also ask us to delete your personal information related to your SOTG App account from our active files by emailing us at support@surveysonthego.net. We may still retain some personal information as needed for legal and recordkeeping purposes. A request to delete your personal information will not affect any information that we previously shared with Partners or other third parties as described above. In all other cases, we will retain information as long as required by law or as long as needed for our business purposes. If you no longer want us to collect information from you via the SOTG App, you can delete the SOTG App from your device.  We will keep your information in our records in case you want to reinstall the SOTG App and reactivate your account. We may also continue to use and share the information that you previously provided, as described in this Privacy Policy.

Authorized Agent.
